A 53-year-old architect, identified as Ajay Sharma, committed suicide by jumping from Golf Course metro station, Noida, on Monday.

He was a resident of Delhi.

“Sharma jumped from the platform of the metro station late on Monday night. He was mentally unstable and had tried to kill himself earlier too. On Monday, he had come to the station alone while his family was in Delhi,” a police officer of Sector 39 police station said.

Sharma was undergoing treatment in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand, a few months back.

Police said Sharma got married in 2002 and had shifted to Bahrain with his family after that.

“He had attempted to end his life several times earlier. In 2013, he had jumped from the second floor of a mall in Bahrain with his 10-year-old child. The child was killed but he had survived. His suicidal tendencies increased after that,” said SHO Amit Kumar Singh of Sector 39 police station.
