RESIDENT SPEAK: 'Green belt in Dwarka Sec 23 needs immediate attention'

"Being an RTI activist, I have been following up the issue with the DDA but nothing has happened yet at ground level," says Chauhan.

RESIDENT SPEAK: 'Green belt in Dwarka Sec 23 needs immediate attention'

The condition of the green belt in Sector 23 of the sub-city is really pathetic. Being a resident of the area, I get to see garbage scattered all around, making the area filthy and giving a stinking smell.

People from various societies across the sector, including me, have written several times to the civic body concerned regarding the matter. Besides, we also had meetings with their officials, requesting them to keep the area maintained.

Apart from this, we had sent them a proposal too to get involved with several non-governmental organisations (NGOs), locals and resident welfare associations (RWAs) so that the work is done in an effective manner with the help of public participation but sadly, nothing has happened yet at the ground level.

DDA has the tender for the past one year but it is yet to carry out work. Therefore, I request the civic agency to look into the matter at the earliest in order to keep the green belt across the area well-maintained.
