They allege the service lane, made up of bitumen, has been levelled using sub-standard materials, causing severe damage to the road.
The residents living across Sector 4 of the sub-city are not happy with the restoration work, carried out by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), post digging up the service lane in front of their societies.
The road in front of the societies like Anant Apartments, Panchsheel Apartments, and Harmony Apartments, located in this particular sector was dug-up for laying water pipeline recently. Locals alleged though the work got completed a week ago, restoring the road by leveling it with cement and concrete but it has started to break now.
Rajender Singh, president of Panchsheel Apartments said, “The service road is made up of bitumen and they have repaired the stretch with cement and concrete. Tell me how this would sustain? Also, the quality of these materials seems to be poor, causing severe damage to the road. Department concerned should redo the restoration work properly.”
Poor restoration work has caused potholes at various spots on the road, making the daily life of the commuters difficult besides residents.
Rajesh Mandal, a resident of Anant Apartments said, “This is a callous approach by the department concerned. How they could repair it using sub-standard materials? The road is completely damaged with dust and stones on it. They should immediately take the matter into their concern.”
Taking to City Spidey on the subject, one of the officials from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) said they will take a serious note of it and do the needful.
