Following a survey conducted by the district administration, 15 high-rises and 9 schools have been served notices for operating swimming pools without compliance and no objection certificate (NOC) from the sports department.

Societies in Indirapuram such as Angel Mercury, Gulmohar Residency, Amrapali Village, Aditya Mega City, Mahagun Mansion Phase II and societies in Raj Nagar Extension such as Bal Mukunda and KW Srishti have been served notices. While premier schools such as GD Goenka, DPS Indirapuram, and DPS Raj Nagar Extension were issued notices for violating the laid norms.
The survey has come out at a time when the summer vacation has started and most of the schools will be geared up to organise various camps.
Talking to City Spidey in this regard, district sports officer GD Bariki said, “During the survey, the swimming pools were found ignoring key guidelines such as unavailability of skills coaches, death mark inside the pools, lifeguards, and safety equipment.”
“While a few of them could not furnish the approval of their pools on the map," he added.
The sports department has demanded a reply within three days from all the violators. "If they fail to respond, the department would take action against them," Bariki concluded.
