A badminton court and a basketball court have been developed at the play area in the park behind New Kanchanjunga Apartments in Sector 23, Dwarka. Both the courts have been developed by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).

According to SDMC officials, the cost of the development of the courts was about Rs 4 lakh.   

On Sunday, the courts were inaugurated by the leader of the house, SDMC, Kamaljeet Sehrawat in an event organised by the social organisation, Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKS).

Sehrawat was present as chief guest on the occasion. She planted some trees also as a part of environment day celebration by SDKS.

Addressing the gathering, Sehrawat said that a collective effort could only make the area perfectly managed in terms of sanitation. She focused on public participation and appealed to the RWAs, social organisations and the residents to come forward and play significant role in development of the area.

Sehrawat also made people aware that corporation was serious on development of more recreational areas for the children.

On the occasion, staffs of SDMC were honoured by the residents. They appreciated the work of the corporation people in making the area clean and green. Besides, the children, who participated in the painting competition at New Kanchenjunga Apartments, were given prizes.
