It is the responsibility of each one of us, residing in the city, to cooperate with the local administration to keep our surroundings clean and green.
Noida (New Okhla Industrial Development Authority) came into existence in the year 1976. It proves to be a place having ecological balance as the riverside Okhla Bird Sanctuary is home to migratory and native birds, plus jackals and butterflies. Apart from these, plants at the Botanical Garden include water lilies and cacti.
Being a planned city, the local administration besides the civic body concerned make sure that the city and its surroundings are covered with green trees and plants. It is evident too when we pass through various service lanes, intersections, and internal roads near residential societies. Even the parks, developed by the Noida Authority, is well maintained in different sectors of the area. Apart from it, vertical gardens are in place to beautify and lower pollution levels at specific locations.
It is indeed a commendable work but activities like garbage dumping and burning are also taking place simultaneously which is a serious cause of concern.
On this Environment Day, let us all- as residents, citizens and children of the Mother Earth- pledge to keep our area and its surroundings clean and green besides our houses. Mere discussions, meetings and passing the buck will not solve the issue ever until we become the change we want to see!
