On the occasion of World Environment Day, over two thousand residents from high rises in Noida’s Sector 137 gathered in huge numbers at a park located in the vicinity and formed a human chain to create awareness about saving the nature.

The residents also pledged on the occasion to not contribute to environmental pollution.

The event was organized by New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) on Wednesday, which also distributed 3,000 cow dung planters among residents of the sector encouraging them to avoid using plastic planters at homes.

The event started in the morning and continued till afternoon. People, including nature lovers, started gathering at the venue even before the event started.

Ankur Arora, a resident of the sector, said that the residents really liked the idea of receiving cow dung planters, which were distributed to them free of cost. “It’s a unique gift and I would love to plant a beautiful flowering plant in it,” he added.
