Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) on Tuesday slapped a fine on Casa Greens-I and Group Housing Project for violating the pollution control norms laid out by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) at Sector 16C in Greater Noida West.
A penalty of Rs 5 lakh was imposed on these projects for dumping the contruction debris on nearby road and keeping construction materials in open inside the premise.
The UPPCB carried out the inspection after receiving a complaint on its Twitter handle. The officers doing inspection also did not find dust screens on the construction site which is needed as per the pollution norms of the NGT.
“The officials found two DG sets at the site as well. But, there was no chimney installed at the these DG sets which is required to check the pollution at the residential societies,” read the notification.
