The Noida Authority, which was given ultimatum by the monitoring committee for sheer violation of Solid Waste Management Rules 2016, has promised that deployment of staff and equipment regarding door-to-door garbage collection service from all across sectors in the city will be completed by all means till June 30.

Earlier, the development authority had set a deadline to implement the service by June 1.

SC Mishra, senior project engineer with the health department, Noida Authority told that the service is operational for 80 residential sectors and in 20 local villages of the city. He said, "The implementation of service is in progress and it is estimated that this time, the set deadline of June 30 will be met."

Meanwhile, residents of Sector 35 and Sector 53 have expressed relief as they have been demanding this service since long. "Though the authority deployed hydraulic tempos for picking garbage from each house, we have been waiting for this service," they said.

Residents of Express View Apartments in Sector 93 complained that staffs deployed with hydraulic tempos are not providing proper service.

Sujit Pandey, president of the society said, "Most of the towers here are of three-storeys. The staffs collect garbage only from residents of the ground floor and when residents of first and the second-floor reach to dump waste in the hydraulic van, they realise that the driver had already left the place. "The service will prove futile if not improved," he added.

JN Seth, resident of Sector 56 said that since one week the service is not regular. "The van did not reach on time as compared to the previous week. Authority should look into the matter and do the needful," Seth concluded.
