They said that the illegal occupancy is especially affecting the women who feel difficult to roam freely outside the society.
A resident of the society, Saurav Kumar said that there were few hawkers doing business outside the society's entry gate early. “But it has now multiplied and causing road blockage for residents coming in or going out from the society,” he said.
It is also creating a law and order issue for residents as anti social elements have started gathering there. “They are also entering in the society,” he complained. He said, “Residents, especially women, are afraid of their safety while going out from the society gate. Anti social elements are roaming here and there near around the society.”
It also affects society's image as the hawkers are putting their handcarts just outside the entry gate.
He said, “When a guest visits the society, he gets a very bad impression of the society. They might not be expressing this to the people whom they visit but they are often not happy at all with the surrounding where several hawkers and vendors are putting up.”
He added that this has to be removed for the safety of women residents and also for the convenience of all other residents.
