After making way unopposed to the board of Apartments Owners' Association (AOA) of Raj Nagar Extension-based housing society- Balmukunda Residency, its members took the oath of office and secrecy on Sunday.

The elections held on June 21 went uncontested as out of 12 nominations, only 10 got qualified for the polls.

"One contestant took back its nomination while one nomination was cancelled by the election committee which led the remaining nominations chosen directly to the board," a member of the election committee told.

This is the fourth AOA body elected for society. In the newly-constituted body of 10 board members, six members are from the previous body while the remaining four are fresh faces. Preeti Daga is reigning AOA for the second consecutive term as president.

Speaking upon the vision of the new body, Ritesh Talan, general.secretary of AOA said the focus would be on pressurising the builder to provide amenities promised to the residents.

"Builder had promised us of boom barrier to be installed on the main gate. He had also promised concrete construction of driveway inside society campus. We are still waiting for these amenities and would insist the builder provide these as early as possible," he said.

Besides, Talan also said that the AOA would pester the builder to handover Interest-Free Maintenance Service (IFMS) charge to the AOA.

"Over 85 lakh rupees in the form of IFMS is held by the builder which belongs to the residents. We would get it back," Talab concluded.
