Noida Police to issue 'red card' to men harassing women in public places

In order to create a sense of safety and security among women, the Anti-Romeo squad of Uttar Pradesh police has come up with an idea of issuing a 'red card' to those found harassing them at public places. It will be considered as 'last warning' failing which appropriate action will be initiated against the miscreants.

It is an outcome of a joint meeting of Anti-Romeo squads of respective police stations in Noida and Greater Noida, held on Wednesday at Surajpur.

According to the statement issued by the Noida police, they have also decided to reach out to principals of various schools and colleges in these two cities to distribute feedback forms among students. The same will be filled up by the girl students, suggesting the local police the places where offenders are generally seen passing lewd comments on them.

Cops added saying that they will consider all the suggestions given in the feedback form to take corrective measures effectively.

"Police personnel will be deployed in all the suggested areas or spots as Anti-Romeo squad will keep a close watch so that girls and women feel safe while going office or colleges and vice versa. All these steps will be taken shortly," Noida police concluded.
