Gurugram: Ardee City residents perturbed over power bill delay

In 2018, the society became the direct consumer of DHBVN and the first time electricity bill to the residents was issued after a delay of 7 months in February 2019.

Gurugram: Ardee City residents perturbed over power bill delay

Around 100 families of Ardee City, Sec-52, Gurugram claimed to have not received power bills for the past 11 months from the power distribution company Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN).

One of the Ardee City RWA (Resident Welfare Association) members asserted that around 100 families have not received their electricity bills for the past 11 months and RWA members together have raised this issue to the concerned officials.

A local resident alleged that the situation regarding the power bill is chaotic and he is not ready to pay an exorbitantly high bill now. Even the residents who have received their electricity bills have claimed that they were unnecessarily high with the substations charges included in them. Besides, the residents are bearing the brunt of inadequate power infrastructure.

A senior DHBVN administrator justified the reason for the delay saying, “There is a delay as just last year the discom took over the process of supplying electricity connections to about 2,000 houses in Ardee City and they are still undertaking the process of setting up accounts for every household.”

The distribution company has assured the residents that they are working towards fixing this issue. However, the residents of this township have no option left than to wait for the much-delayed power bills to proceed further.
