Vice chairman of the authority, Tarun Kapoor, on Saturday visited the area to locate the stretches and playing areas for cycling.
In a bid to save the environment from deteriorating further, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has planned to promote cycle as a mode of transport and sports in the sub-city.
In this regard, vice chairman of the authority, Tarun Kapoor, on Saturday visited the area to locate the stretches and playing areas for cycling.
During his visit, he went to the site of DDA's once planned project called Adventure Cycle Park, located at Sector 5. Besides, he inspected the authority parks located in Sector 12 and 13. He also thought of the metro corridor as an option for cycling.
Talking to City Spidey, Kapoor said, "The Adventure Cycle Park project would be revived and more options would be searched. I want to promote cycle as a mode of transport, sports, and adventure."
Along with the vice chairman, higher officials of the DDA were also present during his visit. During the visit, Kapoor interacted with the officials of the horticulture and asked them to make existing parks more flowery and beautiful. He also told them to look after the old cycle tracks once planned in some of the parks as part of the green circuit. He asked the officials concerned to revive them too.
In Dwarka, DDA initiated some ambitious cycle projects a few years back. Projects like adventure cycle park, a green circuit at Sector 5 and cycle sharing for entire Dwarka are still alive on official papers but not in reality.
