NEFOMA requests PMO to intervene in halted housing projects

A team of Noida Extension Flat Owners and Members Association (NEFOMA) on Wednesday submitted a memorandum at the Prime Minister Office (PMO) requesting intervention for completion of halted housing projects in Delhi-NCR.

“Lakhs of home buyers are running from pillar to post to get possession of their flats in Noida and Greater Noida. Most of them had invested their hard earned money ten years back in the housing projects,” said Akanskha Agarwal, a member of NEFOMA.

NEFOMA has requested the Prime Minister to take cognizance of the matter and constitute a committee for addressal of the problem.

While alleging diversion of funds by the developers, they requested to make arrangements for sell out of assets of the builders to generate funds for completion of stalled projects.

They said that the Noida Authority and Greater Noida Authority have been overlooking their requests for action against the developers.

Among the other requests, they had requested for stopping EMIs of the bank loans as residents are reeling under the burden of paying EMIs as well as rent.

They alleged collusion of builders and banks who have been diverting the funds generated from flat buyers for other purposes. They requested PMO's intervention in the matter.

NEFOMA asked the government to ask authorities to take back the allotted lands and sell them for completing the properties. They also urged the government to complete the housing project by themselves to provide relief to agitated home buyers.
