Dwarka residents annoyed over garbage thrown in vacant plots

Dumping of garbage and waste materials on vacant plots have angered residents of Dwarka. The vacant land between societies, parks and metro stations are being used for dumping. garbage.

Residents said that people are doing so as municipal corporation has not designated any place for garbage dumping. RK Sharma a resident of Sector 10 said, “Such dumping is a common sight in vacant plots. Garbage and construction materials dumped on a vacant plot near HMM Apartments in Sector 10 is visible from the houses of residents. People openly throw garbage on vacant plots despite knowing that it is an offence.”

Throwing garbage on vacant plots does not only make the society look bad but also pollutes the environment and damages the vegetation of the area. Environment activists and nature lovers of the area blame civic bodies for such practice.

“They know that who is doing these things. So they should act on that. This is violation and the violators must be prosecuted according to laws,” said RTI activist, Ramesh Mumukshu from Sector 16 B Dwarka. All such activities are being done under the nose of administration despite a ban on dumping garbage openly in the area.
Leader of the House SDMC Kamaljeet Sehrawat said that she will take the matter into concern and do the needful.
