Residents of Charms Castle, a high rise building in Raj Nagar Extension, staged a protest on Sunday against the developer due to slow progress in development. Looking at the unity of the residents, the management of the developer decided to meet them in the evening. "Around two months ago, we had written to the builder about our problems regarding mismanagement, lack of basic amenities and delay in delivery of club, swimming pool and parking allotment,” said Bhuri Singh, a resident of the society.
"In a reply to our letter, the management promised to deliver club, swimming pool and parking facility within a month but almost two months have passed and they have not fulfilled even a single promise," he added.
The residents were given possession of their flats from July 2017 onwards without basic amenities from the builder such as club facility, parking allotment and swimming pool.
Besides, the residents are also facing a problem of waterlogging in basements. "Waterlogging in basement 1 and basement 2 is a very serious issue and the developer should deal with it immediately. The water rises till pillars which can prove to be dangerous for foundation of the building," said another resident Sunil Singh.
"The management gave in writing that the work will start from this week. The club will be functional by August 11. The allotment of parking has already started. However, the waterlogging issue would be addressed once monsoons are over. Leakages will be fixed and a proper slope till the drainage would be built for the passage of water," responded the management in writing.
