Resident Speak: Ashok Vihar phase-3 residents join hands to construct roads

Residents of Ashok Vihar Phase-3 are facing a hard time due to the bad condition of street and roads as they are in a pathetic condition. In this regard, several complaints have been made via social media where the problem was raised with both, the CM's office and Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) office. But, so far no action has been taken by the authorities.

In their replies, they said, “This is an unapproved colony as it falls within 900 meters of Air Force Depot and no proper drainage system is available there, therefore, MCG can't execute any development work there." But the same rule should not be applied to all? Why areas like, sector 14, Huda office, Atul Kataria Chowk, and Maruti Udyog Ltd, all these areas that fall under 900 meters of IAF Depot are getting developed?

The main Palam Vihar road constructed approx 2 ft height and no pavement and footpath were made by the contractor to enter the area. On the other hand, some pavement was made by residents, not by the MCG. Opposite C2 Palam Vihar, the main entry of Ashok Vihar Phase 3 is badly damaged where our vehicles get stuck and are damaged.

In front of Nandidham Gaushal, there is always waterlogging and many senior citizens and kids in area have already got injured due to the bad condition of the streets.

The government has left us on our own. We recently met with Gaje Singh, a local leader on this issue and he assured us that he will help us, but we have to collect the money for repair works from the residents. He has agreed to bear 50 per cent of the total cost and the rest of the 50 per cent will have to be managed by the residents.

In order to begin the collection, we will have to make a WhatsApp group namely 'Ashok Vihar Phase 3 Development'. We ask the residents to join us and collect the money so that we can build the road which was denied to us.
