With an aim to make the city clean and green, the residents of Silver Oaks Apartment, a condominium in DLF- 1, carried out a plantation drive on Sunday. The drive was a part of their beautification of green belt initiative.
Malti Sawhney, Joint Secretary of Silver Oaks Condominium Association (SOCA) said, "This is part of our beautification of green belt. Earlier, the green belt from gate no. 3 to gate no. 1 was marred with garbage and debris. The resident collectively took part in the cleanliness drive, which was followed by the plantation drive. The drive has brought all people together who have taken the responsibility of making the city green. Children are also taking a keen interest in the initiative.”
Around 150 saplings including neem, amla and other plants were planted during the drive. The residents have even adopted plants and have taken responsibility to take care of them on a regular basis.
On the occasion, SOCA President Tariq Raza, Secretary Kehair, Joint Secretary Malti Sawhney, Salil Aggarwal, horticulture committee members Surabhi and Krishna were present.
