Dwarka: RWAs demand fogging in their societies

Fogging has finally started in Dwarka. Corporation officials are doing it inside and outside the societies on the demand of RWAs. RWAs are calling the concerned Malaria Inspector of the area and asking for fogging in the society’s premises. Also, the team of SDMC officials are checking for mosquito breeding and giving notices and issuing challan where mosquito breeding is found to be positive.

Malaria Inspector of Ward Dwarka B, Rohtas Singh said though spraying is done regularly in the society, however fogging has started now. He also said that spraying and fogging is done routinely or whenever RWAs demand it.

“We are doing fogging on a routine basis or whenever there is a demand from RWAs,” said Rohtas. He further informed, “Fogging can kill all mosquitoes but it is not effective on larva so we spray also. However, mosquito breeding is still found in the area.”

Malaria Inspector of Dwarka A and Dwarka B informed that mosquito breeding was found at many places in the society during checking. “We are also giving notices to RWA if we find mosquito breeding in their societies,” said Rohtash.

People are either calling SDMC officials or texting them on Whatsapp groups for fogging and spraying. Tapan Mondal from Karor CGHS said, “Since monsoon has arrived, therefore mosquito population has also increased. We asked SDMC for fogging They did it today. But we want them to do it periodically to avoid any vector borne disease.”

Leader of the House, Kamaljeet Sehrawat said, “We have to ensure collectively to keep the area free from mosquitoes. Officials are on their work and I appeal to community to cooperate with us. I appeal everyone to keep a vigil on any water stagnation and ensure that there is no stagnant water. If there is something then do inform us immediately.”
