Gurugram: New Administrator for CHD Avenue to end the residents' woes

The district registrar on Thursday appointed a new administrator for CHD Avenue in Sector 71, Gurugram as the society was facing enormous hurdles in running its day-to-day affairs. Even the employees of the society who were not paid their salaries went on a strike.

In September, the district registrar had appointed an administrator for the highrise society after receiving a complaint of irregularities in the election for the RWA of the society. As a result, the RWA accounts were frozen. Faced with the fund crunch, the salaries of the staff were withheld.

As the appointed official failed to join, the employees of the horticulture, housekeeping and cleaning departments were not paid their salaries giving them a reason to continue with their strike. The ongoing strike rendered the entire society into a mess with uncleared garbage, unkempt common areas etc.

As the strike of the employees continued for a few days the residents grew weary and started making hue and cry. The situation took a new turn on Thursday when a group of residents allegedly dumped garbage in front of the complainant's residence. They resorted to slogan shouting blaming his complaint for the chaos.

Following the incident, the SHO of the Badshahpur police station reached the spot and tried to pacify the irate residents. But the complainant chipped in complaining against the residents. “I am in shock. Residents are acting against the government's order which clearly states if the RWA election is not conducted as per the law, a fresh election should be conducted,” he said.

Meanwhile, the District Registrar, Ishwar Singh Yadav, said his department was aware of the strike. They had appointed a new administrator with an assurance to clear the dues of the staff.
"We are aware that the cleaning staff are on strike. We have appointed a new administrator and they (employees) will be paid their salaries by Friday," said Yadav.

The new administrator, Assistant Commandant (Retd.) SS Sandhu, is scheduled to join take over on September 20.
