Residents of La Residentia, a high rise in Greater Noida's tech zone 4, organised Maa Durga Navratri purnahuti hawan (ritual inauguration with fire) on Monday morning.
Post the hawan, Kanya Pujan (ritual deification of young girl), a holy ritual carried out on the eighth and ninth day of the Navaratri festival, would be carried out by the residents. The Kanya Pujan ceremony primarily involves nine young girls, representing the nine forms of Goddess Durga.
The residents have also made arrangements for a vishaal bhandara (open feast), which is expected to witness a footfall of more than two thousand.
“The bhandara will go on till night. Anyone can join and relish the delicacies,” said Sumil Jalota, a resident of the society.
The Navratri celebration will end with the dandiya night where not only the residents but a professional dandiya group will be seen performing. The visarjan (immersion of idol) will be carried out on Tuesday.
