A group of women celebrated Diwali Mela with a focus on woman empowerment and environment-friendly festival at park of Crescent Apartments in Sector 18A in Dwarka.
The group consisted of about 30 women belonging to different professions. Some of them were also homemakers.
The women organised the event by putting stalls of art and crafts, earthen pots, clothes, foods, paintings etc.
Madhu Dagar, one of the members of the group said, “One of the highlights of the event was that it was organised completely by women. It was done with an intention of empowering women. This was planned and executed by the group.”
The event was completely free of plastic as rules were laid down to prohibit use of plastic. Women said that they tried to give a message of green and clean Diwali.
Manju Shukla, a member of the group, announced about adopting ways to promote green Diwali and urged people to say no to plastic.
