To spread the message on waste segregation and air pollution, Meant4Environment Foundation in collaboration with Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) and Suraj School held an awareness workshop at the school premises.

MCG Joint commissioner Inderjit Kularia, IEC Consultant, MCG, Dr Harbhajan Singh were present on the occasion.
During the workshop, the attendees were informed about the importance and need of waste segregation at the source level. They were taught different techniques which can be applied to segregate wet and dry garbage generated at the source.

While addressing the gathering, Dr Singh highlighted the importance and urgency of solid waste management and strict adherence of the guidelines.

A street play was performed by the school students and college volunteers emphasising the need to be proactive on waste management.

Several volunteers from the societies of Sector 69-70 were felicitated with certificates for their contribution towards clean and green Gurugram by the Joint Commissioner Indrajit Kulharia. These include house-keeping staff, children, students, senior citizens, RWA members and all active volunteers who are working towards spreading awareness in their areas.

There were fun-filled activities planned by student volunteers to convert the technical information of waste management in simple information.

Shalinee Agarwal, Technical Advisor of the Meant4Environment Foundation said, “With everyone’s support, we will surely bring the change in the society and achieve the goal of sustainable development. People took pledge to do their bit towards environment as this is what we all can give as biggest gift to our younger generations.”
