Seven Gurgaon schools to remain closed till Nov 9

With students coming down with infections and the weather showing no signs of improvement, a handful of schools have decided to remain closed for two more days.

Keeping the health of students in mind, seven Gurgaon schools have decided to remain shut for two more days, till November 9. These include Amiown, Manav Rachna International School, Presidium, Pathways World School, Shiv Nadar School, Lotus Valley International School and Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok.

However, unlike the Delhi government, Gurgaon has not passed any formal orders for closing schools.

Most schools have decided to make changes to their timetables to make it easier for students to travel.

Many parents have expressed concern over the government's tepid response to the crisis. "The children have been suffering, and a lot of them have come down with bad infections. I contacted our kid's school, but it is unwilling to announce any holiday unless the administration issues a notice," said Samika Sethi, a parent.

Many schools have shifted outdoor activities and sports indoors. “My son’s school is fully air-conditioned, and the administration is taking necessary steps to avoid outdoor sports. It has had to reschedule its sports day as well,” said Sonal Jain, whose son studies in GD Goenka Public School.

When City Spidey contacted the district administration, senior officials said that orders were yet to be issued by the education department.
