Masks distributed in Noida to safeguard people from pollution menace

In the wake of air pollution, Janshakti Sewa Samiti, a Noida based social organisation, distributed masks to people on Wednesday at main Chowk, Bans Balli Market, Sector 8, Noida.  

One of the members of the samiti said though the government has taken several steps to combat air pollution, the activity of burning parali was still going on in various parts of the country deteriorating the air quality. 

“People of our district are suffering from breathing problems. To help the residents and commuters, we decided to distribute masks,” said the member.

On Tuesday, federation of Noida residents welfare association too distributed masks outside Botanical Garden Metro Station, Sector 37 to 500 commuters.

K K Jain, Secretary General of the federation, said, ''The association took this step as the air is not breathable. I am sure these masks would help people in avoiding inhaling the polluted air.”

Despite maximum efforts by the adminsitration and people to control the air pollution, air quality remains well above the prescribed leve in Noida.
