In an intensive drive to monitor implementation of anti-pollution guidelines, East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) levied fines worth Rs 52.2 lakh from those found violating the rules.
Led by Commissioner Dilraj Kaur, 1,017 sites were inspected, and 530 challans were issued by EDMC officials till late on Monday night.
The officials apprehended three people while an FIR has been registered against 13 for violating the guidelines.
The drive, which began on October 14, focused on industrial zones. Five teams were formed to take strict action against the violators by patrolling at night.
The commissioner said that no polluting units, groups or individuals will be spared.
