Noida: To encourage residents of high rises to dispose of their waste in an environment-friendly manner, the Noida Industrial Development Authority, in association with an NGO, Adarsh Seva Samiti, on Saturday distributed composting kits in Homes 121, a society at Sector 121.
The authority held a workshop motivating the residents for source segregation and disposal of kitchen and degradable waste at homes. During the workshop, they were apprised of how to use the kits for managing the waste effectively.
As many as 35 residents were given composting kits for disposal of waste. Dinesh Singh, president of apartment owner association, Homes-121, said there were many residents who benefited from the workshops held in the society.

Homes-121 is a society where around 1,800 families reside. A few residents of the society have been disposing their kitchen waste at homes for one year. To encourage the rest to follow suit, the authority organised the workshop where the residents turned up in good numbers.
Singh said that disposal of waste at home is a good step as far as saving the environment is concerned. Considering this, the society is also motivating all the residents to opt for source segregation and disposal of waste.
