New Delhi: Passengers of SpiceJet, AirAsia and GoAir can now avail Metro check-in facility. GMR-led Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) on Monday announced extension of the facility for passengers of the three airlines.
Till now, the service has been available for the flyers of Air India and Vistara. Now, the service is available for all domestic and international passengers of these airlines flying out from Delhi Airport.
The service has been extended by DIAL in collaboration with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as part of its effort to provide enhanced experience to its domestic and international passengers. It will help many airport bound passengers who can check in at the station at their convenience.
Starting today, passengers of AirAsia, GoAir (international flights) and SpiceJet, flying out of Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 (T3) can obtain their boarding passes at the Metro check-in counters, set up near the entrance of the New Delhi Metro Station.
The airport-bound passengers will be able to do Metro check-in for domestic and international flights from New Delhi Metro station two hours to 12 hours before the scheduled departure of their respective flights. The flight check-in facility at the metro station would close two hours prior to the departure time. As it takes just 19 minutes to reach airport from New Delhi metro station, passengers would be able to utilise their time for personal work.
The facility will also allow flyers to travel light to the airport by dropping their luggage at the check-in counters. The checked-in baggage will be transferred to Delhi Airport’s Terminal-3, through a secured Baggage Handling System (BHS). The highly sophisticated BHS ensures that baggage reaches airport in time.
Calling innovation and technology as cornerstones of their successful operations, CEO of the DIAL, Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, said, “We introduced Metro check-in facility at New Delhi Metro Station in the interest of customer centricity. For us, the passenger checking-in; remotely or the by reaching the airport directly are seamless.”
He asserted that as the operator of country’s capital airport they owe the responsibility of making the airport user-friendly for tourists.

The facility at present caters to 400-500 passengers of Air India and Vistara every day. The enhancement of this facility is the outcome of sustained joint efforts by DIAL, DMRC, and respective airlines for smooth and comfortable journey of the flyers both at the Metro stations as well as the Airport.
