The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) concluded its two-day awareness workshop on bulk waste management on Wednesday. The authority had invited all the builders, housing, residential groups, co-operative societies, Resident Welfare Association (RWA) and Apartment Owner Association ( AoA) from to attend the workshop.
At the workshop, the authority, apart from giving a comprehensive presentation on waste management, informed about what is being done for waste management in different areas.
The GNIDA has, so far, penalised 83 bulk waste generators and raised Rs 22.78 lakh from them. Interestingly, Greater Noida has some 756 bulk waste generators.
Narendra Bhooshan, CEO, Greater Noida Authority, during the workshop, also instructed its officials to reply to any query regarding the waste management from the attendees.
The attendees, through presentation, were given instructions as to how they could treat and differentiate between dry waste, wet waste, inert waste and electronic waste. They were also asked to install incinerators to dispose of sanitary pads and diapers.
It was also announced that the authority will soon be installing incinerators in public places like parks, markets, etc. and one thousand more dustbins will be placed all over the city to curb the menace of garbage littering.
The Greater Noida Authority has also solicited suggestion through WhatsApp number 8800203912 from the public about the locations and photos where they think a dustbin should be installed.
