GNIDA penalises 7 more societies for violating SWM rules

Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) penalised seven more societies for negligence in handling solid waste. A total penalty of Rs 1, 35, 600 have been imposed.

On Friday, the authority imposed penalty of Rs 52,400 against Nirala estate, Rs 22,400 against Spring Meadows, Rs 20,000 against Mayfair society and Rs 10,200 each for Aishwaryam, Pristine Avenue, Casawood and White Orchid societies in Gaur City 2.

Till now, 141 bulk waste generators have been penalised and a total of Rs 33.71 lakhs have been imposed on them. Bulk waste generators are entities which generate 100 kgs of waste every day.

The authority is charging Rs 7,000 per trip to take the waste out of the societies which are not managing their waste. On Friday, Eros Sampooran was charged Rs 14,000 for two trips and WHO Society was charged Rs 35,000 for five trips.

Narendra Bhooshan, CEO GNIDA, has also sent clear instructions that societies which are not disposing off the waste at designated places will also be penalised.
