Organic waste converter plant launched by NDMC

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Wednesday launched a Swachh Composting Plant in association with Art of Living (AOL) in the National Capital. The plant has been set up at NDMC nursery in Gole market.

AOL founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, lieutenant governor Anil Bijlani and NDMC chairperson Dharmendra inaugurated the project. The plant will dispose of 1,000 kg of organic waste every day and produce 300 kg of organic compost without any chemical treatment.

Addressing the media, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said, “Segregation should be done in every home. We need to educate every individual to participate in the process and separate organic and inorganic waste. If we work in synergy, we will do wonders.”
