Gaur City shootout accused in Bisrakh police dragnet
Greater Noida: A team from Bisrakh police station on Saturday arrested a desparate criminal following a brief exchange of fire. The man is said to have been wanted in a October 3 shootout case where he made a bid on the life of a resident of Gaur City.
At around 3 pm, the accused was spotted by the police team riding a motorcycle along with his associate. As the police party tried to intercept the duo they opened fire on them leading to an encounter.
The cops, however, could be able to overpower the accused near Roza Jalapur Gaur Sons Mixers in Greater Noida after a hot pursuit and took him into custody. While the accused identified as Arun has been injured in the crossfire, his accomplice managed to flee the spot.
The police seized a country-made pistol along with three live cartridge and a motor-cycle from the accused before taking him to a hospital for medical supervision, said an official from Bisrakh.
A reward of Rs 25,000 was announced for both the accused who are involved in shooting at Anil Chauhan, a property dealer, at Gaur City 6th Avenue on October 3. Fortunately, the victim escaped the attempt on his life unhurt.
“Arun is a hardcore criminal and has been recorded as a history sheeter at Phase-3 police station,” Station House Officer Bisrakh Manoj Pathak said.
He further said that in November the two accused were also named in a case of extortion in Delhi by a cement distributor, Shitijraj.
The accused has been booked under section 307 (attempt to murder) and 384 (Punishment for extortion) in three police stations across Delhi-NCR including Bisrakh.
