New Delhi: The air quality index (AQI) is likely to be in the ‘poor category’ on Sunday. However, the good wind speed will help to control the pollution levels. 

Delhi’s AQI has been gradually improving for the past four days. For the first time since September 30, the city’s AQI touched 84 in the ‘satisfactory’ category. However, it again deteriorated on Saturday with AQI 193 in the ‘moderate’ levels. 

As per Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) central control room, average PM 2.5 level in Delhi-NCR over 24 hours was around 46 micrograms per cubic metre at 8 pm on Friday, while on Saturday it was 86 micrograms. Similarly, average PM 10 level was 87 micrograms per cubic metre at 8pm on Friday and 145 micrograms on Saturday. 

Delhi’s maximum temperature on Saturday was 22.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was 12 degree Celsius. According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature is likely to fall around 10 degree Celcius by Sunday and 9 degrees by Monday.
