GB Nagar: With no change in the air quality index (AQI) in the city, which is still hazardous, District Magistrate BN Singh launched a special helpline on Saturday for the general public to report about the incidents leading to air pollution in the district.
The administration has also announced a reward of Rs 1,000 to be given to anyone reporting about incidents like stubble burning, garbage burning among other factors that contribute to air pollution.
He assured of immediate action against people found guilty of flouting the Environmental Pollution ( Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) guidelines. He said the culprits would be booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

While the names of the complainants will not be revealed, the person who reports the incident first will be rewarded by the administration. The complaint made within 12 hours of the incident will be entertained.
