Greater Noida: Residents of Gaur City and other high rises in Greater Noida West will soon be able to enjoy metro ride as the UP government approved a proposal to extend Aqua line from Sector 71 in Noida to Knowledge Park-V in Greater Noida. 

The, approximately, 15 km long metro corridor would be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 2682 crore. There will be a total of nine stations in the extension which would be developed in two different phases within a stipulated period of three years.

Under the first phase, the corridor would be developed between Sector 71, Noida and Sector 2 in Greater Noida. As per the plan, metro stations will be at Sector 122 and Sector-123 in Greater Noida, Sector- 4, Echo Tech, and Sector-2 in Greater Noida.

In the second phase, the corridor would be developed till Knowledge Park-4 from Sector-2 in Greater Noida. There will be four metro stations at Sector-3, Sector-10, Sector-12 and Knowledge Park-V.

After the UP Government's recommendation, the detailed plan report would be forwarded to NCR planning board, Ministry of Finance, government of India, for recommendations of council of minister.

The aqua line was made operational early this year. There are total 21 metro stations between Sector 51 station in Noida and Depot station in Greater Noida. 15 stations lie in Noida, while 6 stations are in Greater Noida. The corridor is 29.707 km long which was developed at a total cost of INR 5,503 crores.
