Dwarka's police-public sanitary drive off to an earnest start

It was a pleasant Saturday morning. Pleasant not only because it was a weekend. But, because hundreds of community people embarked on a sanitary mission.

Sporting white T-shirts and caps wearing gloves on their hands reflected their sincerity to the task at hand. Their target was to clear the master plan roads of litter.

They all were engaged in picking up plastics and other waste from the roads and the lanes under an initiative of the Dwarka District Police “Swachhta Pakhwada” (sanitary fortnight). Saturday was the first day of the cleanliness campaign.

Police personnel, children from schools and NGOs, RWAs and representatives from social organisations all were there to take part in the drive.
