New Gurugram residents meet MLA over their civic woes

Residents of New Gurugram held a meeting with the newly elected Badshahpur MLA, Rakesh Daultabad, on Saturday to share their grievances and suggest solutions to all the public problems. They vociferously raised developmental issues of the newly developed sectors.

The MLA was accompanied by officials of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) and Gurugram Police.

Residents of several housing societies from sector 80-95 including Sare Homes, Ansal Heights, NTH-86, NTH-90, Raheja Navodaya, Antriksh Heights, Vipul Lavanya, Vatika INX India, Sidhartha NCR One, NBCC Heights were present at the meeting. Representatives of sector 37 C & D also attended the meeting and aired their grievances.

Various civic issues related to infrastructure, water supply, maintenance of sector roads, cleanliness, waste management, sewerage and storm water drainage connectivity, security, city bus connectivity, maintenance of green cover among other issues were discussed during the meeting.

Praveen Malik, RWA President of Sare Homes, said, "Our sectors are newly developed and there is lack of basic amenities such as roads, water connection etc. The GMDA officials and the residents agreed to find an amicable solution to resolve the issues. We have not only raised our problems but also provided solutions and hence hope to see some development on the ground."

The residents raised safety and security concerns and demanded frequent patrolling in the area.

Bhupinder Narula, organising secretary of the United Association of New Gurugram, said, "We have also requested the MLA to expedite the shifting of kherki daula as it has become a nuisance for the residents living in the societies."

After giving them a patient hearing, Rakesh Daultabad assured them early readdressal their grievances. On the issue of sanitation, he vowed to discuss the matter with the GMDA and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and find a lasting solution. He informed that he is in communication with various departments for early resolution of Kherki-Daula toll issue.
