Gurugram: To improve the solid waste management in the city, 25 new vehicles has been added to the fleet of door-to-door collection of waste collection agency Ecogreen in Gurugram. MLA Sudhir Singla and Mayor Madhu Azad on Monday flagged off these new vehicles for better waste collection in the city.

Speaking at a program organised at the garbage collection center located at Rajiv Chowk, the MLA said that although the garbage collection has improved as compared to earlier, but it needs further improvement in SWM mechanism.

He said, “With the induction of these 25 new vehicles for door-to-door garbage collection, there will certainly be improvement in the SWM mechanism.”

He also asked the representatives of Ecogreen to visit the city on their own to take stock of sanitation system and improve it as required.

Gurugram Mayor Madhu Azad said that improvement is needed as far as the sanitation in the city is concerned.

“The company needs to ensure 100 per cent waste collection from each household then the result will be visible on the ground. The company should pick up the waste from each house in a timely manner. Also, wherever garbage is lying in the city, it should be cleaned with immediate effect and ensured that garbage is not dumped at places other than the designated places,” she said.
