Gurugram: Amid the protest over Citizenship Amendment Act, the Gurugram Police has stepped up the vigilance on social media to keep a check on the rumours spreading on it.
The Gurugram Police issued an advisory stating that if any person who are found spreading rumours on social media then strict action will be taken against them as per rules.
Gurugram Police also appealed to the citizens not to spread any kind of rumour through social media or any other means, nor pay attention to any kind of rumours and maintain brotherhood or social harmony.
They also appealed to the public to inform the Gurugram Police immediately if someone spreads a rumour.
Meanwhile, the Gurugram Traffic Police advised the citizens to keep following the traffic police twitter handle before planning their travel to Delhi.
Earlier on Thursday, the city came to standstill as the Delhi Police sealed the Delhi-Gurugram border and only allowed vehicles after checking. The Delhi-Gurugram Expressway witnessed massive jam of about ten kilometers at the peak hours causing traffic snarls for hours.
The impact of the jam was visible on all the major roads including MG Road, Sohna Road, Old Delhi Road, Golf Course Road and other surrounding area affecting the lives of the denizens.
