RWA President Ajay Gupta inaugurating the event by cutting ribbon
New Delhi: A badminton tournament under an inter-society annual sports tournament, Sparkle 2019-20 of the Federation of Group Housing Societies Indraprastha (IP) Extention, was Inaugurated at Kirpal Apartment on Thursday.
Briefing on the Inter societies' sports event, The general secretary and chief co-ordinator of the Federation, Mr Ajay Gupta, said the month-long tournament will end with a colourfull cultural programme, fancy dress competition on 9 February 2020, followed by a prize distribution ceremony.
During the tournament, different events will be held in 14 the societies and at a school of the complex. Residents of all the 118 societies are eligible to participate in these events, which include badminton, carrom, chess, table-tennis (TT), on-the-spot painting, karate etc.
Each of the events is subdivided into 3-4 categories according to the age of the participants and items for all age groups from nursery to senior citizens. This year, total participation is expected to touch 2,000-mark.
Every participant will be given a participation certificate at the end of the tournament. Entries for the tournament are still open.
