Fire at Delhi Transport Department office, no one injured

New Delhi: A massive fire broke out at the Delhi Transport Department office near Civil Lines metro station on Monday. Though no one was injured in the incident, all the documents related to the department went up in flames.

According to the Delhi Fire Service, the fire incident took place at 8.38 am. A total of 26 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.

It is suspected that a short circuit in an electrical appliance in the server room caused the fire. However, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

The fire started from the server room on the first floor before spreading to eight other rooms located on the same floor of the building. The blaze then spread to another room on the second floor of the building.

Apart from documents, furniture and electronic equipments were damaged in the fire.
