Noida: Residents of Supertech Capetown, a highrise in Sector 74, Noida on Sunday celebrated 71st Republic Day with a lot of enthusiasm and zeal in their society.
It is the largest society of Noida with 4,419 flats and approximately 25,000 population. The society witnessed a day full of activities and programmes.
The main gate of Capetown and its amphitheater were decorated gracefully matching the tricolour.
Republic day celebrations started with unfurling of national flag at 8.30 am in the morning at main amphitheater situated in the middle of society.
The flag unfurling was done by Capetown society's AOA President Arun Sharma along with Major General (Rtd) RPS Malhan, Air Commodore (Rtd) AK Sinha, Dy. S.P (Rtd) J P Singh, SCWA President A K Srivastava, Girish Singhal, AOA VP Mahesh Yadav, Secretary Krishna Sharma, Treasurer Praveen Bhardwaj and other AOA members.
National anthem was recited after unfurling of flag by 500 residents including senior citizens, ladies and children.
After national anthem, an hour-long cultural program was organized, in which, many children gave their performances on patriotic songs. Sweets were also distributed to all the residents present during the program.
A blood donation camp and Table Tennis workshop was also organized in Club 1 of Capetown. In blood donation camp, many residents including AOA team donated their blood.
In the afternoon, a tri colour kite festival was also organized in Lake Garden of Capetown where hundreds of children with their parents participated and enjoyed kite flying along with seasonal snacks like peanuts and popcorns.
AOA Vice President Mahesh Yadav extended his thanks to all the residents for participation and making program a grand success.
