New Delhi: The joint forum of RWAs in East Delhi, RWA Bhagidari has demanded a concrete solution to the civic problems ahead of the Delhi elections. They said that they will boycott the elections or not support any political parties if there is no solution to their problems.

The members of the forum said that they could also press NOTA (none of the above) button during the elections.

They especially brought the issue of water logging to the fore which is ubiquitous in areas like Krishna Nagar, Geeta Colony, Guri Anand Nagar etc.

President of RWA Bhagidari BS Vohra said, “We are facing the problem of water logging in many areas. It cannot be neglected. Civic authorities should give us back what we pay in form of the income tax. East Delhi has been a neglected area when it comes to basic facilities.”

“We don't want to hear false promises. We just need time bound solution for our demand. We hope that issues get sorted out. Boycotting election is our last resort,” he added.

A resident of Anarkali Colony, Mukesh said, “The drains are not properly managed. Sewages flow backwards in various areas. The water logging happens even during short spell of rains. Entire area gets inundated and we get an impression of living in a lake. Silt was not cleaned since long.”
