Cops arrest two bike lifters at Greater Noida

Greater Noida: Two men were arrested for allegedly lifting bikes by the cops of Bisrakh police station on Wednesday.

During checking, the police intercepted that the two bikers were not able to present the registration papers of the bikes. Later, the police found two sharp knives and seized the two motorcycles after detaining the men.

As per the police, the men used to lift bikes from market areas and have been involved in many bike lifting crimes in the district.

The arrested accused have been identified as — Ravinder and Nitin – both residents of Shiv Vihar in Delhi.

They have been booked under Section 414 (assisting in concealment of stolen property) and 482 (punishment for using a false property mark) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

While the police lately have been able to track down several of the bike lifters from the district, no car lifters have been arrested so far. Notably, the incidents of car lifting are much higher in the area than the motorcycle theft.

The most recent car theft incident which was successfully solved was of the white Scorpio car of a retired Colonel from Greater Noida. The complaint about the stolen car was made in Beta-2 police station on January 26 and the car was found on January 28. It was returned to the owner on February 2.
