Noida: Acting against defaulters, the Noida Industrial Development Authority on Wednesday imposed a fine on four restaurants, located in Sector 4 and Sector 10, for using banned plastic carry bags.
A team led by Indu Prakash Singh, officer on special duty, and Gaurav Basal, assistant project engineer, on Wednesday conducted a surprise visit at different restaurants.
The authority imposed a hefty fine of Rs 3.5 lakh on them.
According to the officials, about 2 tonnes of banned plastic carry bags were recovered from the four defaulters.
A fine of Rs 1 lakh each was imposed on Healthy Chulha, Central Kitchen and Bowl, all located in Sector 4, Noida.
Owner of Food Express, a restaurant in Sector 10, was imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 for violating the rules.
