Noida: The stage is set for the spring festival, an annual feature of the department of horticulture, Noida Industrial Development Authority. The showcase event, which opens tomorrow, is expected to attract nearly 3,500 flower lovers and people passionate for gardening. 

The show would last for three days. 

During a press conference on Thursday, Ritu Maheshwari, chief executive officer of the Noida Industrial Development Authority, said that the main aim of the show is to highlight the air purifying plants and say no to plastic. There will be kiosk of Human Tough, an NGO, where plants would be exchanged with plastic.  Nukkad Nataks (street plays) will also be performed on the same topic. Demonstration of composting will also take place which will lay emphasis on reducing waste. 

The authority is expecting entries of 3,500 wide variety of flowers with special focus on  Dianthus, which is this year's theme. There will be a total of 40 nurseries and 35 stalls catering to gardening tools and material.

For the amusement of visitors, a cultural programme like a mushaira, drawing competition, kavi sammelan and inter-school dance competition would be organised. A food court has also been arranged with different types of foods that the visitors may relish while visiting the show.
