Noida: Residents Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 117 alleged that Noida Industrial Development Authority has been neglecting development of basic facilities in their residential pockets. Due to this, they have been deprived of facilities like community centre, playground for children and green cover etc.
They complained that they had raised the issue with the authority many times in the past but their complaint fell on deaf ear. An action in this regard is yet to be taken.
They said that as many as 200 families have been residing in the sector from past several years. But they don't have a community centre for get-together or holding party function in their sector.
The authority has not developed any play ground in the sector and due to which, children have been forced to play on the road. It is not safe as they may get hit by moving vehicles at the internal roads of the sector.
Koshinder Yadav, President of RWA, Sector 117 said that the underground sewerage line is not connected with main line for channelising sewer water to treatment plant. “Due to this, it is being flooded in the open drain, which is not environment-friendly and is in violation of the rules,” he said.
Yadav said that the authority has not provided them a shopping complex in the sector. Residents have no option but to visit other nearby markets for shopping and even for purchasing grocery items.
He said that the authority has also not developed a boundary wall around the sector, giving miscreants a free access to the sector from all four corners.
He concluded, “We have been deprived of such basic facilities from many years. We don't know why the authority is not paying attention to these issues despite it being raised in several meetings in the past.”
