MCG seals two properties for defaulting property tax

Gurugram: The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on Monday sealed two properties in Zone 4 for defaulting in filing their property tax.

Zonal Taxation Officer Dinesh Kumar along with his team sealed the building of Krishna Buildwell Corporation located at Sector 35 on Monday. It owes property tax of Rs 16 lakh. Along with this, the team has sealed the building of Vrinda Construction in Sector 50 for not paying property tax of Rs 10.65 lakh.

According to Kumar, large property tax defaulters were given notices to pay property tax in his zone.

“As they failed to pay the property tax within the deadline given in the notice, action is being taken to seal them. If the defaulter fails to pay the tax even after sealing, then the properties will be attached and auctioning of these buildings will be implemented,” he said.

The civic body has already prepared a list of property tax defaulters and notices were issued to over 1,400 such people who have pending dues up to over Rs 10 lakh.
