New Delhi: As the coronavirus outbreak has been declared as pandemic by the World Health Organization, there is a dire need to take necessary precautions in order to stay safe in times such as these.

As per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the most vulnerable are the older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes and lung disease.

The CDC advised, “If you are at higher risk for serious illness from COVID-19 because of your age or because you have a serious long-term health problem, it is extra important for you to take actions to reduce your risk of getting sick with the disease.”

It suggested the vulnerable people to take extra care during the deadly virus outbreak. The CDC asked people to pay attention for potential COVID-19 symptoms including, fever, cough, and shortness of breath. “If you feel like you are developing symptoms, call your doctor,” it categorically stated on its website.

The leading national public health institute of the United States also stated that one should be alert about emergency symptoms like difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, bluish lips or face.

It said that consultation of doctor is must in case of emergency symptoms.
